8 Months & Updates

Jack is 8 months old today!  He is 15lb 14.5 oz & 27" Tall.  He is now crawling, going from a crawl to a sit & pulling himself to a stand on furniture.  All of that happened in one week, last week!  He is now into EVERYTHING!!  Constantly on the go, exploring the house.  Still only his two bottom front teeth and no signs of any others yet. He is in size 9 month clothes and size 2-3 shoes.  Right now he is fighting off a little bit of a cold.  I hope it doesn't get any more than a runny nose which is what it is now.  Lydia thew up 3 times last night, poor girl.  Both of them have a very slight fever.   Lydia seems to be better today she has kept food and drink down all day so far and is in good spirits.  This is the first time she has ever been sick throwing up.  She has only had 2 colds so far since birth but never a stomach illness.  I think it scared her a little.   We have a ton of activities planned this weekend so I am hoping Ryan & I don't get it and the kids are well by then.  I would hate to not make it to all our parties and activities.  But I guess we will just have to wait and see how everyone is on Friday.

Ryan's job has finally rolled over with the new company.  So he is now an employee of CEP/ High Plains Oil & Gas.  Things are going well with that so far.

Our new home at 801 Sako Drive is clicking right a long.   It had a slow start but things seem to be coming together quickly now.  The house is almost finished being framed.   It is nice to see kind of what the finished project will look like now.  It was hard to picture the house and the size of the yard with just bare land but now that the house is there, you can tell where things will be.  The yard is a very nice size, not much in the back but two large side yards which will be fenced.  I believe the closing date is still set for end of February sometime.

We have not sold our home on Laurel yet.  We have 2 interested parties right now who have both said they are considering putting an offer on the home.  Those were last week, I am not anticipating any offers or anything serious until after Christmas but I am really hoping one of the two will pull through.  I believe our realtor wants to put our home on an open house one more time before Christmas.  With all the pretty lights and decorations up.  I still have to get with her to see when that will be, I am thinking maybe Monday evening, the 20th.  Ryan did a wonderful job of putting lights and decorations on the front of the home.  It looks really great from the street.

Lydia is doing well besides being sick this week.  She had a fun day yesterday with Grandma, shopping, wrapping & decorating a gingerbread train.  It's hard to believe my baby girl will be 3 in just a few months.  She has told me that she wants a Strawberry Shortcake birthday party, so I think I will plan on that unless she changes her mind in the next month.  I'm not sure what we will do or where we will have it.  I wonder if we will be in our new house by then or in the middle of moving.  She also has 2 cousins with birthdays the same week so we will have to see what works with everyone schedule.

Lydia loves to play pretend and has such a great imagination.  She is talking really well and it's so cute when she rambles in long sentences about funny things she is thinking about.  A few days ago I asked her if she would put lotion on my back for me and she was so excited to help mama! She just kept rubbing and rubbing, I asked her at least 3 times if she was done and she would say 'no, more lotion please' - I think that girl rubbed her mama's back for at least 20 minutes!  Then while she was rubbing my back she was telling me about how we should go to the beach with lots of sand and Daddy could ride a Daddy whale, Mommy could ride a Mommy whale, Jack could ride a baby whale & 'I could ride a sister whale!'.  LOL  Then she told me the sounds that the whales make.  I low squeal for Daddy whale and a high pitched squeal for the baby whale.  It was so cute.  She is doing well with her shapes & colors she knows them all pretty well.  We are working on ABC's & numbers now.  Every now and then she can get a letter right but it's hit or miss.  I bought some Dr. Seuss flash cards and they are sooo adorable.  She loves them and they are a lot of fun.  She has learned all her opposites that way & knows them really well now.  (Up/Down - Short/Tall etc)

Well for Christmas Eve we will be going to my parent's home to do an exchange with the immediate family and with Dad before he has to go to work that night, then after that we will go up to my Grandparent's house for the big gift exchange and dinner.  On Christmas morning we will have our own exchange and a nice breakfast with just our family then later that day we will go to Ryan's families to exchange with them.

Well this is getting very long, I will update again after Christmas with all those updates & photos.  Here are some pictures of the last month.  We have new video's and lots of photos up on the photobucket.  New Video's will be the newest video's posted to "Our Video's 2" & photos of the kids will be under Jack 6-9 Months & Lydia 24-36 Months.

Thanksgiving

We had a very nice Thanksgiving day with the Kennedy/Matheson side of the family this year.   Mom made a wonderful dinner and Ryan smoked a whiskey smoked turkey to bring to the meal.  We had a great visit, had some good laughs and got some nice pictures too.  We arranged for a gift exchange with both the Kennedy and the Matheson side of the family this year and we will be doing an exchange with Ryan's side of the family as well.

I was able to get all my shopping done this weekend.  I did all my shopping online with the great black Friday weekend deals and got all my exchange gifts bought as well as some gifts for Ryan.  We are done shopping for the kids too now, Ryan just needs to get one gift and then we have a few birthday's we need to buy for too then we will be done shopping.

Our house was on a Holiday Extravaganza open house tonight from 4:30pm-6pm.  It was one of 8 homes that was on the open house tour tonight.  Our realtor was worried with the weather being so very cold that we wouldn't get a turn out but we got 3 families that came through so that was great.  She said they all really liked the home so we are optimistic.  We also had a showing at 2pm today.  Ryan worked really hard over the weekend and got the outside of the house beautiful decorated with lights, trees and a wreath.  It looks amazing.  I am sure it helped bring people in to the open house.  Our realtor said most homes only had one showing and one didn't get any, so we were thrilled to get 3 families.   I got lots of new decorations and we put up the tree and got the whole house decorated for the holidays, it really looks great.  I will try to take some pictures this week to share.

I want to check out the holiday bazaar this weekend at the CamPlex and I would like to take Lydia to the festival of lights at the camplex park.    She just loves seeing the lights!

7 Months

Jack turned 7 months yesterday!  He now weighs 15lbs 12.5oz & is 25.75" tall.  He is almost crawling now, he will get up on all fours and rock or move one or both knees forward.  He also gets up on his hands and toes with his butt way up on the air.  He rolls everywhere!  He loves to laugh, talk & smile.  He has quite a happy personality.  He adores his big sister and things she is so funny.  :)

We celebrated Thanksgiving with the Becker side of the family yesterday and had a wonderful dinner.  Ryan smoked a Jack Daniels turkey in his smoker and it turned out wonderful, his best one yet!  I also made homemade rolls, green bean casserole & a green salad.  His sister Laura brought a ton of pies, and his Dad baked a turkey, ham & did mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy.  We all had quite a feast!  Lydia had a lot of fun playing with her cousins Emma (18 months) & Tanner (almost 3).  It was about time to go home and everyone was cleaning up when Tanner ran after Lydia in the living room and fell head first into the coffee table.  I saw the hole thing and when I heard that loud crack when he hit the table my heart just sank, I knew it was going to be really bad.. He had a big gaping gash below his right eye.  He ended up having to get 9 stitches in the ER.  Poor guy, we all felt terrible, what a way to end the night. :(

We will be going to my parents on Thanksgiving day at 1pm and then to Granny's that night at 7pm for pie and to do the name draw for the gift exchange for the family.  Ryan will be smoking a turkey for that dinner too. Yum!

I drove by our new home today to see that they were digging the basement today.  It was so muddy and wet today I was kind of surprised they decided to start on it now.  We didn't have nice weather today at all.  I hope things go smoothly with the building process from now on.  It is exciting to see them breaking ground though.  We would appreciate all your prayers for that as well as a smooth and quick sale of our existing home.  It was so congested on the road with workers and work trucks when I drove by the new home I just looked quickly.  I will try to take pictures of the progress sometime soon and post them.

6 Months

Our sweet Jack is 6 months old today!  He got BOTH his bottom teeth just in the last week.  He weighs in at 15lbs 5oz & is 25.25" tall.  He LOVES to smile and laugh and is very ticklish.  He thinks it soo funny when I pinch his little butt cheeks.  LOL

Lots of Updates

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted any new pictures or updates.  It has been a crazy month here at the Becker household!  Our biggest news is that we are building a new house.  Our new home will be in Remington Estates, house number 803 Sako Drive.  We just signed the contract on it last Thursday and they will begin building as soon as possible.  It should be ready for us to move in the end of December.  We bought two adjoining lots and we will be putting a 2 car detached shop on one lot and the house with it's own 2 car on the other lot.  The house is 2800 sq ft. and has an unfinished basement, which we will be finishing on our own over the next year after we move in, as well as the landscaping.  I will be sure to post pictures of the homes progress as it is being built. We had our spec meeting today to go over some final details of the house.  He said he will be pouring the foundation by the end of next week!  We were sent home with lots of samples to pick colors for everything!  Ryan and I have been working really hard the last 2 weeks to get our house in near perfect condition to sell.  It looks amazing! We listed our home for sale just yesterday, and it was on the property tour today. I think it went pretty well.  We had 2 people call to look at the house already today. We are hoping that we can sell it fairly quickly, before the other home is done at least and that we can get what we are hoping to out of it.  Your prayers for a smooth sale of our home are much appreciated!

Jack will be 6 months old on the 15th - just a few more days.  We have not started him on any solid foods yet but I will be introducing them next week at a very slow pace.  Breastfeeding is still going great.  Jack got his very first tooth this week! One of his front bottom teeth, and I can see the other front bottom tooth is not too far behind.  At 5 months old Jack was 14lbs 15oz & 26" tall.  I will be weighing and measuring him again on Friday for his 6 month stats.   I am always excited to see how much he has grown.  He is in 6-9 month clothes.   He rolls from belly to back and back to belly and is getting better and better at keeping his balance while sitting.  He loves watching his big sister do things and he really enjoys jumping in the jumperoo.

Lydia is a VERY active 2.5 year old.  She is constantly learning new things, saying new things and learning to express herself in new ways.  She loves to sing, dance and playing pretend.  She is just now getting into Disney movies, before she refused to watch them.  Her favorites right now are Aristocats and Wall*E.  The picture below is her getting ready to go spend the day with Grandma & Grandpa Kennedy.  She also had her toe nails painted for the first time with Piggy Paints - bright green!
