Great Friends

We were blessed with a visit from some close friends a few weekends ago. Unfortunately they weren't able to stay long but I am so glad I was able to see them. Lydia really liked Joshua, and I think it is so neat that they share the same birthday (he is 2 years older). Lee Ann took pictures and a video while she was here and sent them to me this morning. Here are a few pictures and the video. :)

Two Teeth!
Both of Lydia's two front bottom teeth have poked through! I kept expecting for her to get sick or start getting really fussy or not sleeping at night so I am so thankful she didn't have any problems. What a blessing!
She is also starting to climb and pull herself up to a stand by herself! She still is not crawling the official "hands & knees" crawl but she has developed her army crawl into an art and can get across a room really quickly that way. :)
She loves for someone to hold her hands so she can walk. She takes great big steps and can get around really fast that way too.
We are excited for her first Halloween. She will be dressed as a Teddy Bear! We bought a 6-12 month size costume but after pulling it out of the packaging earlier this week and trying it on, it is going to be way to long in the legs for her. Luckily our wonderful neighbor who happens to be a seamstress offered to fix it for her so she is taking everything in on it right now. We plan on making trips to each of our family members homes to say "trick-or-treat" and to take pictures.

Personalized Baby Items

I ordered these personalized bibs and the shopping cart cover a few weeks ago. I was able to specify exactly what I wanted from colors to fonts and of course what text to put on everything. I just received them today. I really like how they turned out! The shopping cart cover comes with a bag to keep it in and the bag and cart cover both have her name on them. There are 6 bibs. 1 says Lydi-Bug, 1 says Tootsie, 1 says Sweet Pea, and the others are monogrammed with her initials or her name.
I See A Tooth!
I can see a tooth right under the skin on Lydia's bottom gum so I don't think it will be too long before we have one poking through! We still aren't crawling yet but each day she gets a bit closer. She is starting to bring her knees forward now, she just needs to get her hand movement in sync with her legs.
Some other new things we are doing this week are - drinking out of a straw, waving hello and goodbye, & clapping our hands together (we love to play patty cake)! We have also moved up to size 2 shoes and I think we will be needed to move into size 6-9 months sleepers soon.
Ryan & his hunting buddy weren't able to bring anything back from hunting, but they said they had a good time. It just wasn't a good area and they only saw 1 elk the entire 5 days they were there. They did see a lot of moose though. Ryan took some pictures with a disposable camera. I posted them in a slide show that you can see just below this post.

Most Angelic

I have been a member on justmommies.com since I was pregnant with Lydia. I was a member of the March 2008 Due Date Club which is now the March 2008 Play Room. It's made up of a large group of mommies who were all pregnant and due in March of this year. It's so much fun posting pictures of our babies and reading and posting about the new things our babies are doing and sharing cute stories and helpful advise. All the babies were recently put up for "elections" and Lydia won the "Most Angelic" baby in the March 2008 Play Room! This picture is her "award" that gets posted with each entry I make on the board. A fellow member made it for me. She did a great job!
Snow!

We had our first snow of the season last night! It's hard to believe that just a little over a week ago it was 80 degree's. I took some pictures from our window this morning.
We are going to go pay for our carpet today, I am so excited. I am not sure when they will be able to put it in though, I am sure it will be sometime after Ryan gets back from hunting. He will be gone from Tuesday-Sunday unless they get something, then they will be back early. I will post before and after pictures of the old/new carpet when it is all finished.
I will send Ryan hunting with a disposable camera and maybe he can take some pictures that I can upload here.
I am hoping to get some child-proofing done on the house this weekend before Ryan leaves. We need to lower Lydia's crib setting now. It won't be long before she is pulling herself up to a stand and when she does that the rails will be much to low for safety. Lydia isn't super mobile yet but I would also like to get the safety locks for the kitchen cupboards and plug the outlets that aren't in use. We also need to put together the safety gate to go up by the stairs.

Ready to Crawl
Lydia is so close to crawling! Everyday she gets a little bit closer to getting it right. She is getting up on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth. She even gets one knee forward! She loves to get up on her hands and do baby push ups lifting her butt off the floor until she is on her toes. Last night she was practicing and I counted for her (which she loved!), she did 15 push-ups!! Wow! We are getting brand new carpet soon for the living room, stairs and office - just in time for our little crawler, I am very excited! We will also be baby proofing everything in the next week or two which will include mounting a gate above the stairs.
